D series non-vtec heads - how to tell them apart from casting
d16a6 CRX si 16v
d15b7 EG DX 16v
d15b8 EG CX 8v
without pulling the valve cover. besides IM and exhaust manifolds and ect.. and since all valve covers can be swapped... is there any way to tell the three apart from any kind of molding/casting on the exterior of the head?

Besides the number of valves for the only 8 valve listed, if you know the years for those motors/heads, just look on the head casting for its year, should be in a circle with a slash through it and may be slanted.
