quitest but fat/big muffler -- any suggestions?
Apexi WS is the most OEM looking muffler. The tip is 4'' though, so it doesn't look that stock, but the canister is about the same size and even weighs about the same. If you paint it flat black you can't even see it under the car sometimes, like at night. It's quiet. It's louder than stock, and noticeable, but it's just not as loud as other exhausts because the muffler is chambered. Stay away from universal mufflers...personally I think a majority of them are loud and annoying and sound like ****. There aren't many universals that are the big and fat cans...lots are oval shaped or circular/canister types...the Apexi WS you can pick up for 350-400 bucks brand new if you shop around. Good Luck.
if you want to retain the stock noise but have a fat muffler then go to your nearest shop and buy a fat tail pipe and cut the original off and weld on the fatter on, that way you have the look without the noise.
There's nothing more OEM looking than genuine OEM. I'm quite happy with my Type-R catback; it's OEM, and it performs well and sounds good. I know there are plenty of people in the big-brand-name cult who will say it doesn't perform as well as most aftermarket exhausts, blah blah blah. Well, I dyno'ed today and came out a bit higher than the average LS with I/H/E. Let's face it, Honda knows what they are doing. Of course, it's all depends on your intended setup, but for my car, it works very well and doesn't irritate people or get me tickets.

u said FAT as in a stock GSR muffler? if you want a 1 inch tip than yea just swap your muffler out for a type R muffler. a TSUDO muffler sounds good and has a bigger diameter tip.
