Default CRX rear brake question

So I just replaced my rear brake shoes, hardware, drums, overhauled the wheel cylinder and bled the brakes. The brakes are self adjusting but it seems like they are taking a long time to adjust. I know it is a problem involving the self adjustment because there is not much tension in my parking break. Ive been driving for a while and they have still not adjusted. So does it usually take this long or do i need to go in there and adjust them manually? Sorry if this is unclear let me know if i need to reiterate. Thanks
Car is a 1988 crx hf with the stock brakes.

They are self adjusting but you should still adjust it some what, so there is a drag when the parking brake is up. Then just follow the manuals procedures in braking to set parking brake.
