1996 Acura Integra LS Indicator light turned on
My indicator light has never turned on before ....and I recently went to a mechanic shop to get my fuel injection cleaned and an oil change. I wait patiently in the mechanic shop and the mechanic tells me I need to get my car diagnoses due to the indicator light turned on. I find it coincidental that the indicator light is now turned on AFTER I took it to the mechanic to get serviced? I mean with teh indicator light on? does that mean there is a problem with the engine? emissions? My car runs great.....

121,600 miles on it
Should i worry about the indicator light? or not? I just find it weird it out of nowhere it on now after i get my car serviced.......i'd appreciate some feedback
thanks

rest your ecu, unplug your negative battery terminal for 20 sec then reconect it, then it should go away, if that doesnt work look on the right side of you passenger side foot area right under the dash and there will be a little clip, that looks like it should be plugged in but it's just hanging probably tucked up in there so look around for it, then get some wire or a papper clip and plug it into the clip and your check engine light will flash and count the flashes and it will tell you what is wrong.
It;s the Indicator engine light not the "maint rec" light. I called the mechanic and he informed me the reason the light is on is because the fuel injector fluid "shocked" the sensor and he said after two days the light should automatically turn off......should i buy into that advice? or be concerned?
I have never heard of fuel injector cleaner "shocking" a sensor like that(Meaning I've never seen a sensor be temporary inoperable). I would have them put that in writing and if it doesn't go off in a couple of days hold them liable to pay the diagnostic fee to take it to a dealership and have them check the light. The mechanic should at least have a generic scanner though to check the light. Honda does not recommend using injector cleaners at all and you shouldn't have and now you might have messed up the O2 sensor letting them put that crap into your engine, which could be the light, which isn't cheap to fix.

its a 96 so its obdII
and the light went on because theres a problem now, cleaning your injectors may have just uncovered a preexisting problem. either way theyll have a reader there, i think they should read it and at least tell you the code, it only takes 2 seconds to plug in and get the code.

what sensor? if you mean the o2 sensor then it shouldnt have dammaged it, if it did theyre propably using an inferior injector cleaner.
try what he said, reset your ecu, see if it comes back. it could be that simple
