Dunlop SP 5000 and Tire Pressure
I just replaced me stock tires with Dunlop SP 5000. Overall a drastic improvement, except I'm trying to perfect my tire pressures. I was running f 37psi and r 35psi on the OEMs, but there is too much flex in the tire to run that w/ the Dunlops. I'm up to f 38psi and r 35psi which takes away the flex, but now I feel as though the car is a little loose in the steering and a little tail happy --- anyone have any suggestions or experience with these tires?
I have those exact tires in 205's as well. I think I'm running 40f/38r. Yes I agree that the tradeoff is between squishiness and twitchiness. For street I figure the higher pressure will get a few more miles of tire wear. Drive the car for a few weeks and you'll get used to the new feel.
I think I may go back to 195 on my next tire. The traction on these is great (over the michelins), but the wider tire seems to make steering sloppier. I've gotten used to it, but I may rethink width on my next purchase. Have others experienced this?

I second that. I went with 205's when my old ones went bald. Was thinking performance and I got it. Handles a lot better but the stupid wheel keeps following the road imperfections. Definitely going back to 195 when these wear out.
