Default turbo for my b18b1

ok heres how it goes.
i was given a new garrett t 28 turbo and have a question

i have a 97' integra ls engine (b18b1) and i want to turbo it. i am shooting for 300ish horseys with rods and 9:1 pistons. i also wanna put cams and do some head work, and maybe a b16 tranny. it will have 2.25 charge pipe and a small intercooler also. i want this car compleatly streetable and want it to be torqey and get up and go. minamal lag in other words but i dont want my turbo to fall off up top.
heres the specs
compressor
ar- .48
trim- 54.80

turbine
ar- .49
trim- 68.79

i am wondering if this turbo will be ideal for my situation or if it is goin to fall off in higher rpms

ditch the idea of a b16 trans. You want to stay in boost as long as possible.

ya thats crap with staying with ls tranny, my buddy had an ls turbo teg and put down 300hp, he first ran 13.0 sec in the 1/4 , then he got a b16 tranny and was putting down low 12's all day, and i doubt you will get 300hp with that small turbo get a t3/t4 ftw anything smaller than even a t3 and you wont make much power

ahah ya still didnt answer the question tho. see a t3 t4 wont spool till 35-4000 rpms and i dont want that i want somethin that will spool at 3grand or maybe before. i just dont wanna run outta power at like 5500 or somethin like that. this turbo is oil and water cooled and i think its ballbearing. my friend said it was. also heat and backpressure come into play also. i just need some good input to help me think. i know i can go get a t3 t4 but if i got a brand new turbo for free then why waste the money if it will be Sufficient to my needs.

ahh my friend, i know what you are saying about the late spool, but from my experience, and my buddys, id say there was very lil lag, i had a garrett t3/t4 on a bone stock ls in a hatch back, im telling you that car was fast as hell it ran 11.9 in 1/4 with a b16 trans w/lsd of courase. it depends on the tune, injector size, inntercooler size, and the launch, so really getting anything smaller, the turbo will die out ,just like my bros si he had a garrett t3 tuned and turbo died out at higher rpm, tuner said never go smaller than a t3/t4 on a b-seires,very lil lag but once it boosts damn does it move, ls is great for turbo cuz it already has low compression and is very torqey

Heres the problem, your going to have quick spool with that turbo but you will be sacrificing your top end. Yes it will drop off on the top end and you will have a hard time making 270-300whp without running a pretty high amount of boost.

Since your looking for something streetable i would NOT recommend a B16 trans whatsoever. Stick with an LS trans or a GSR trans if you plan on tracking the car on occasion.

I suggest doing some more research or reading thru the ls-t thread in the FI subforum. There are a lot of options for you where you could use a small T3 and yet still hold power to 275ish. Also, something like a GT2871R would be an option that would give you the torque and power your seeking with quick spool.

You will get better answers for your questions in the FI subforum.

i would get a idea on reading compressor maps and adding better flowing mods will help spool time. for example i spool about 500rpms earlier after installing a better intake manifold/tb but every setup is different so there's no set standard.
