How much pony am i being rob of?
95 civic si hb with 98 itr motor and 00 itr tranny w/ lsd.
I have stock gsr exhaust manifold with stock si exhaust piping with ac and ps.
My question is, how much power and i holding back? I am beginning to think there is something wrong with motor ( can't be, low miles and run excellent). My brother owns a 92 vx, 94 gsr swap with i/h/e and aftermarket clutch and flywheel. I am barlet beating him off the line and from a 2nd gear roll. On the freeway,
.......he pull on me 3rd by half a car until we 4th i begin to pull back slowly.
So, is it the fact that my car has stock header and exhaust the reason why im barley beating him?
Here is what i think the problem is
My car is heavier since it's a si model
Air conditioning and power steering and cruise control
stock header and exhaust
his car has more mod
Im a sore loser....no way

it's the intake manifolds that are different

That's great to hear. Some of my friends are saying that i should beat him considering i have more hp. But then again, my car is not a complete type R yet.
Going to get new header and exhaust and see what happen. Might remove ac and ps just for the hell of it too.

Im sure we came to the same conclusion on one of your previous threads as we said the manifold and exaust are restricting the full potential of the motor. If i was u id buy an aftermarket header such as hytech or a rep and a decent exhaust which is atleast 2.25
get better at driving.
i beat my friend's 93eg hatch with a type r and he had full bolt ons and chipped ecu, and at that time i had i/e/h and still walked on him. i have a 94ej1 fully gutted. just learn to shift faster.

I Dont think u need to shift faster my buddy has a CTR in his 97 Ex coupe with I/H/E, Clutch and flywheel and chipped ECU and he shifts slow cause he says shifting fast will mess up for tranny lol thats how he is but he walks on H22 Hatches and 350z almost pulled on a Sk2 with I/H/E, Clutch flywheel and a good driver

So he's got:
Less power, lower torque, and a heavier chassis but he walks H22 Hatches?
Doesn't sound right, IMO.

Yeah, and look into slapping a JDM ITR header on that thing, between that and the exhaust you'll get a pretty damn noticeable increase in power over what you have now.

stepped design?
I email the guy who was selling it and he told me there is a version 2.
Is that what you mean by the "stepped design"?
Verson 2 had a change with the flange where it bolts into the header. Really consider this header but im still confuse about the whole exstension piece thing. Anyone had personal experience with the header?
