Default Can anyone recommend some good boots?

Well the only piece of the puzzle missing from me having full gear is a good pair of boots.

Right now I ride in my Kevin Garnett basketball shoes because they are leather high tops, but I am in the market for some boots before riding season starts again.

All my other crap is Alpinestars but I'm down for whatever

For the track/spirited rides only? Or do you plan on some daily riding/commuting/walking around a little in them?

Well I think our track is closing

Spirited riding only. The only commuting I do is to class and I almost never exceed 30 mph that way.

So no I don't need to walk around in them at all, just want to be safe.

Well, I was asking because you could get a touring boot, which is much more comfortable for long distances and walking around, many are 100% waterproof (At least I have tested my Sidi Evo Strada Tepor in rain and my feet were dry).

I would recommend Sidi and the Oxtars. They're great boots for the money.

Check out http://sportbiketrackgear2.hom....html they have some nice sales on different boots.

Regardless of the manufacturer you settle on make sure your boots have plenty of torsional rigidity at the ankle support/pivot point

I love my oxtar tcs evos they are decently comfortable and not to bad to walk around in, although I wouldn't want to go wandering around all day.

Iron Pony motorsports in Columbus, OH had the Vertigo Corsas for $300. I would have bought a pair but they run too narrow for me. I had been told that there isn't much difference between the Vertigo and Corsa but after trying them on in person the Corsas have noticeably better torsional support. The Oxtar Evos also had good support. I am happy with my Supertechs, though.

i loved my sidi B2s. sold those when i got rid of my last bike, and now i have a set of a* supertechs. i haven't ridden with them yet so i don't know how i'll like them.

they are definitely stiffer in the ankle than the sidi boots were.

Oxtars are good. . .

I have Teknic Speedstars and they're really great. Like no other boot I've seen before actually.

Got them from http://www.sportbiketrackgear.com. They even have a video of how to "put them on" as well... It's pretty cool. It's like a CF shoe in a boot.

i think my next pair of boots will be some Gaerne's or the P00m@'s. the speedstars for $225 are also a solid deal.

A*s will typically cost you a hefty sum more than some of the other boots...

I'm riding with mostly A* gear, but like the better half of the people above me here^^, the deal newenough has on the oxtars before they rebrand is pretty hard to beat. Brand new boots for $99? Count me in

I have the SetUp Vision boots and am very pleased with them, and for the money they have them for,
pretty good deal.
