Default car dies out of nowhere

driving down the road, going about 55 and the car dies out of nowhere. I roll into a church parking lot, try to start it back up, nothing. I let it sit for like 2 mins, fires right back up. I drive for like 3 miles everything seems fine then all of a sudden it dies, roll into a parking lot, let sit for like 2 mins starts right back up, and i drive the 10 miles home no problem. Once i got home i tried starting it up and it started fine every time.

Any suggestions to what may have caused this? thanks for the help guys

I ordered a new distributor from distributor king, put it in everything seems to be fine for the last 2 days, then tonight it did it again, just died, i sat there for about 2 mins and it fired back up.

take off the distributor, take out the ignition module, and take it to your local autozone for a free test

i'm betting on the ignition control module

so you're saying you had this problem before you swapped the distributor?
