Default what the hell is up with my car? it wont start

well my car has been running good ever since yesterday. started my car, went to work, started my car again after work and went home. everything was fine until i tried to go into town last night at about 11pm. i flipped on my headlights like i usually do and then tried to start it but the battery just died instantly. the headlights looked like they were bright as normal. anyway asked for a jump but that dodn't help. took my battery back to walmart and got a new one. still nothing. the only thing that is weird is that i can see my dash lights but they are pretty dim. ran out of what i thought i could do. has anyone ran into this before?? sucks cuz i need to go to work today and got no ride. piece a chit acura. anyway any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Does the car crank at all? If not it and your headlight and radio work it's probably the starter. Give it a light tap with a hammer while someone tries to start it and see if it cranks over. If it does then it's the starter. Our you can always try popping the clutch.

Your dash lights are probably dim because you have the dimmer down.

first of all let me answer the bottom suggestion, my dash lights are not dim because i have the dimmer down i always have it on but to add to it i turned on my map light because i have a gsr and that light is very very dim! the car doesn't want to crank at all. it seems exactly like a dead battery but i tried to get a jump, went and exchanged my battery for another battery and then tried to start it and nothing happened. it seemed like i didn't even change the battery when i tried to start it when i changed the battery out. the starter doesn't even click because i think it isn't getting any juice. i believe nothing is getting juice from my NEW battery. i checked all my fuses and they are all fine. anything else??

try the cap and rotor, the alternator or the alternator belt, the ignitor in the distributor.........you can easily check if there is spark coming out of the wires......that will narrow it down...hth...also check battery connections to make sure they are not corroded and secure....

Yeah, check the starter. If it clicks then it's the starter. That's what happened to me. (96) teg. I went to the junkyard and bought another starter. About100 bucks

well i believe the starter cannot start the car without sufficient battery power. I DON"T HAVE POWER. i don't understand why i should check my distributor and starter and alternator if my main problem is not getting power throught the car. i see my dash lights but they are very dim which means i don't have sufficient battery power. if the starter did go out i think my dash lights and everything would be bright but they aren't. am i right on that??

take it to a mechanic, if youre going to attempt to fix it yourself you have to go through an elimination process and it seems that you dont want to since youre rejecting ideas before you try. yes the starter wont crank if theres no power but also it wont crank it the solenoid is frozen, you already said you tried jumping it and changing the battery so its obviously not that, test to see if the starter is getting power, but if youre not willing to go through the proccess then youre going to have to pay a proffesional to.

Sounds like your starter.....take your starter to a store that does rebuilds. Should be around $80. Takes about 2 hours.
