I am planning to buy a crower stage 2 cam and i want to install it myself. The head will be off of the car. Will this be easier and quicker than having the head on the block? Any tips you guys have? Any help will be appreciated.
install it your self if you know wat your doing and have the right equipment, if not your best bet machine shop it isnt like putting on something basic ive seen it go all wrong, good luck and i would go to a local shop and get some advice
Lube the lobes, make sure you use a torque wrench at the proper values, and when you install the head on the motor, make sure all of your timing is setup right.
It's very easy and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Also, i was thinking if i should put ARP head studs in when i change the head..
only internal workd would be the stage2 cam and maybe PnP

thats why i was asking. i read here on h-t that you wouldnt have to upgrade the valvetrain if it was kept under 7k

Depends on which engine and which manufacturer...
Supertech makes springs that work with stock retainers...b series heads
Crower you have to get springs and retainers, but are sold in a kit.
