IPS K10 CAM QUESTION!!!
I'm thinking about getting the IPS K10 cams for my rsx type-s. But my question is, does anyone know if the K10 cams( which are 312 duration) with just dual valve springs, titanium retainers, and kpro will run fine on pump gas?
You will be fine with pump gas. Goodluck getting a pair though.
Does anyone know at what lift they measured this duration because if you check the engineering page they list the k2 intake .050" duration at 259 degrees where as the k2 page is listed at 302.

^ because there is a very long wait for any of the ips cams even from them directly ..........search clubrsx and find some used see if you can get them cheaper and faster there first

What are your supporting mods? If you dont have the mods to make use of the cams then its no point in getting "crazy cams"

im going to get the folowing to suport the cams: rbc manifold, race header, 70mm TB, rc440cc injectors, walbro fuel pump, hondata kpro, dual valve springs, titanium retainers, polished head, metal head gasket, arp headstuds, exedy stage 2 clutch, and toda flywheel...i already have an apexi exhaust system and custom intake
...im lookin to shoot for 250whp on pump gas reliably all motor

What size is the apexi system?[/QUOTE]
I'd highly recommend a 3" exhaust system for any turbo or high HP all-motor setup. The n/a setups respond really well to the thermal 3" exhaust system.

That's what I was going to say but even with a 3" I dont think he is making 250whp

yea i was thinkin before this thread of getting a thermal 3" but ive been told it wont bolt up but i have a shop with a mig and tig welders so its not a big deal...and the hp figure i threw out is just wut im hoping to hit, im not expecting to hit that exact number, anything over 220whp ill be happy with

Ok that sounds fair. Just to give you some real world numbers:

I would recommend a K24/K20 for 250+whp numbers

i think you'll be fine on pump gas as long as you have it tuned properly. invest in k-pro and take it to a reputable shop with a dyno and tune it.
as far as making a true 250whp with these cams is up in the air? that would take a lot to do with the associated mods. all though, i have seen my buddies rsx-s with the IPS KME cams, Injen CAI, and DC Sport race header and Tanabe exhaust with k-pro dyno tuned reach over 230whp! and it was fast. felt really good goin down the street and it pulled hard in every gear. so good luck bro.

yea i am gonna get get kpro and its gonna get tuned by jeff at Evans Tuning(cuz hes the man!!!
)...i think wit a good set of cams and bolt ons and a good tune it should make roughly 220-230whp...oo and does anyone know for sure if a BDL 70mm TB does away with the cruise control?? since it uses a second throttle cable.

have you talked to a tuner? i recommend you call a shop that tunes and ask them what you need to do to hit 250whp all motor and they will break it down for you. also if going to get some crazy cams i would recommend upgrading you oil pump so if your tensioner goes out you wont bend any valves. this is some advice daniel from Church's tuning gave me and i thought i might just pass it down. but talk to a tuner they are full of information.
yea ive been readin up on wut tuners have worked with and wut numbers they've gotten with certain set ups...i have an idea of wut to get and where itll get me
the lift/duration of the cam has nothing to do with whether the car will be safe for running on pump gas. Compression is the determining factor there.
The k10s are a serious cam. You probably won't be overwhelmed with your power production unless you are doing one of two things.
1) getting a 2.4L bottom end.
2) revving the **** out of your 2.0L.
For the mods you listed, I'd strongly suggest the k2-mark II or the Kme. The K10 is designed for motors that have built bottom ends, meaning higher compression, higher RPM capability, and usually more displacement.
