took a couple hours saturday to wash the car, and give the engine bay a little clean up.
hooked up the karcher to my water DI tank, and went to work.. gave it a nice white foamy bath...and let it soak for a little bit..

then i rinsed, and washed the car with the 2 bucket method.. here is the hood after a rinse, and before i sheeted the rest of the water off before drying with my leaf blower.. i love the way water beads with swissvax..:thumbsup2:

and of course.. the engine bay.. i remembered i didnt have any foamy engine brite at the house, so i added a very small ammount of citrus dawn to some diluted simple green and sprayed the engine bay down.. worked everything with my wheel brush.. then rinsed off.. blew the bay dry with the leaf blower too, and then followed up with my favorite engine bay dressing.. CD2 engine detailer.. doesnt leave a glossy shine, and no residue to let the dirt build up.. it completely dries and builds a slight resin to protect for a while..

pretty glossy..

anyways, thanks for looking..

1 bucket with your favorite car wash soap, and water.
2nd bucket with just clean water and a grit guard.. rub the sponge or wash mit on the grit guard to let all the dirt, and anything else that might be in the wash mit or sponge fall to the bottom of the bucket where it cant be rubbed on your paint..
almost all those spider web lookin swirl marks on your paint are caused by normal car washing.. the foam soak, and 2 bucket method just reduce the chances of swirls coming back

Nice car and thanks for the rest of us not up on the two bucket wash. So when you did the engine what's the best way to keep the intake dry? Just spray control?</TD></TR></TABLE>
i just put a plastic bag around the filter.. you honda guys have more to worry about though as ive noticed water always seems to find a way to get down into the spark plugs.. but the newer cars with coil packs dont seem to have that problem.. actually with my spark plug wire cover on my integra i didnt have that problem either.. seems like the older SOHC honda engines were hard to clean without getting water down there.. if u can find a way to vaccuum or dry out all the water that gets in those holes, you will be fine

Looks nice bro.
Had any problems with the M badge on the valve cover peeling or fading???
My brother (in Jersey as well) has gone to the dealership to have his replaced twice already due to this.

nah mine is fine.. the only problem like that i had was my hood emblem one day was all chrome.. i guess the BMW logo flew off.. so i bought a new one and put it on.. but the m badge on the engine cover seems to be perfect.
