Default AEM V2 overview

I just installed the AEM V2 CAI system. The car sounds like a vaccum cleaner now but i like it and the car revs quiter and easier. instalation was complicated (for me) and took almost 4 hours but all in all im satisfied.

About the hydro locking issue, after installing it and analysing, there will be noooo way for me to submerge the air filter, i didn't take a picture of the way it sits but it is extremely elivated from the ground,(idk if its a newer, revised version but there wasn't even room for an umbrella) and with the sitting in rain issue the version i got came with a 1 way rubber nipple that sits in the bend, i do have a picture of this

These pictures where taken on a phone but it gets my idea across

Nice install. A couple points:

1. The rubber plug will dry rot and eventually leak. Mine did and so did a buddy's. Figure it will last 1-2 years before failing. In theory, the stopper is nice but in practice, I find it hard to go and check it during a rainstorm.

2. It's not as high as you think: you're still below the headlight. I measured mine and at the *highest* point, the filter is 16 inches off the ground, and 10 inches at the lowest. I wouldn't call that "extremely elevated", so don't push your luck.

3. There *is* room for an umbrella, if you know where to place it.

4. I don't drive anywhere near deep puddles *and* I have an umbrella, and when i remove the filter, i can see where a water has puddled at the bottom of the intake pipe (a few ounces at most). So some friendly advice: don't assume your V2 isn't susceptible to hydrolock: by design, it's inherently pretty easy.

A careful, thinking driver is the safest way to avoid hydrolock. Good luck and enjoy it, especially in tunnels.

Looks good. I just bought a S2k a few days ago and I am thinking this AEM V2 will be my first mod. Thanks for the feedback.

Keep in mind that the V2 will greatly limit your options if you want an STB. Most won't fit under the V2 pipe: I finally found a Comptech one that does.
