I've only ever had Neuspeed strut bars in my sedans or the wife's old CR-X, so I'm pretty biased. I like the PWJDM model but as stated above, the price! No thanks.

I would stay away from the types with hinges, those are less effective. I have heard the car should be jacked up when it's installed. Perhaps, that's what you meant when saying installing one the wrong way.

Correct, whenever there is heim or hinge it's a weak point/give point which defeats the purpose.

I think strut bars are useless weight. I have had cars that I have tryed strut bars on and without, raced them in auto-x's drag races ect. Never noticed a difference.
Only difference I noticed was it is harder to work on things around the strut bar. I also seen some strut bars ruin intakes because they rub. I have heard strut bars make the car more noisy, everything but help...
Oh wait, I used to have a rear strut bar in my crx that was nice to lean on when I was changing my nitrous bottle.

Fact is strut bars do help to add structural rigidity to the chassis and reduce flexing.
some people say it helps more than others.
I have the ebay bars and i noticed they help reduce chassis flex on my 17 year old crx
there are some really nice designs these days (Explicit, Password, Neuspeed)

i've actually seen strut bars that don't touch the throttle body cover at all. so maybe someone had something awesome or something sucky.

good point. that makes sense.
now, another question. how many strut bars can i get for my model? and how much of a difference will it make to get more?

I have a few on the shelf I could sell you. I hear they are good for 20 HP and make your car corner like it is on rails.

There's way better ways to spend your money than a tie bar.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I've owned 2 sedans with DX power (and installed one in a DX CR-X) and none of them have hit the TB cover with the Neuspeed bar in place. My intake tube, maybe, but not the TB cover.
Pics when it isn't like Noah's Ark outside, if you'd like.
Also, I got mine for free, all from friends selling their EF's. Can't beat that price.
