idle high
ok, i got a 92 dx, and for some reason, it idles very high when it's cold out. When i first turn the car on a cold day, the thing sounds like it's about to blow, there has to be a jacked up sensor telling it to idle higher than it should be. When the engine warms up it stops idling high too. does anyone know what that sensor is so i can get a new one.
thats how a civic is it idles high when it cold. idles for me at around 1500 rpm and them drop down to regular idle at 700 rpm. dont worry about it it just how it is when it is first turned on in the morning.
you sure? my roommates got an 01 civic and his doesn't idle high like mine and my other roommate has a 92 gsr and his doesn't either. 1500 is a lot to just be idling at. I'm assuming mine is close to that but i don't have an rpm gauge.
