195/50/15 tires on 6.5 inch width rims?

Default 195/50/15 tires on 6.5 inch width rims?

i didnt want to thread jack the other thread so im starting a new one..

i have 15x6.5 Rotas on my 97 civic coupe and was wondering if 195/50's will fit. i have 205/50's on there now, but im wondering if smaller tires would fit.

They can be mounted on that size wheel, but that size tire is too small for your car. Stick with either 205/50-15 or 195/55-15.

195/50-15"s are not too small for the car or the wheel but they are slightly smaller in diameter so your speedometer will be a little off. Of course, this is assuming that you are not talking about 195/50-15" Bridgestone RE-01Rs which are actually bigger than most 205/50-15" and are therefore too wide for a 6.5" rim.

There are other effects of using undersized tires like that, in addition to throwing off the speedometer. They add miles to the odometer, they lower the car, they look tiny, and they hurt fuel economy.

Nonsense. The 195/50-15 RE-01R is approved by Bridgestone for mounting on 15" rims that are 5.5-7.0 inches wide. They're fine going on 15x6.5.
