Mpfi dohc ZC swap crank fuel spark but no start
PLease can someone give me a hand i did the swap 2 days ago followed everything for the mpfi swap and dropped in the dohc ZC in cranks fine fuel pump works but it doesnt start i used the resistor box from a 90 teg but it doesnt have the wires everyone says it only has a 1 RED and 4 Black thats all i checked the the cps wires reversed them too nothing then the white wires on the distributors switched them and nothing your help is greatly appreciated this being my first swap and researching everything has taken its time, im running out of it, thanks.
u got the red wire ran to the two yellow wires from the dpfi right? And the blacks to the injectors? And you tried switching the white wires at the dizzy?
Are you getting fuel thur the injectors (not to them but do they actually spit)? And you got spark. Did you check timing and compression?
yeah i wired the 2 yellow and black to the red and the red black wires to the black on the resistor box i havent checked the timing but it came off a working right hand drive, i looked at the spark and its really weak but no sign of i wanting to go on, ive tried swapping the wires from the distributors but there is solid white and white and another color its driving me nuts i know im so close to firing it up but so far f*&k LOL
Hey wood i checked the fuses they are all fine the grounds i think they are all good i just dont remember how many grounding points there are, a lot of people have the same problem as i do with the white dizzy wires, they switch them and everything is all good but i wana make sure which two wires are those, thanks for the help this is driving me nuts
make sure you have the ground, coming out of the harness (red arrow), connected to the bolt on the thermostat housing

make sure you have spark plug wires in the correct locations

DOHC ZC distributor connector wire locations - if you did a DPFI to MPFI, you shouldn't have needed to touch the distributor connector
