Default Kakimoto Racing GT1.0Z for DC2 Pictures and Sound Clip

Here is the pictures of the new Kakimoto GT1.0Z full stainless steel lightweight catback exhaust for DC2.

B-pipe and the muffler

All the hardwares that come with this exhaust

Picture of the only flange (connected to the cat) in this exhaust. Seem like there is no bottleneck.

Close up picture of the muffler.

Connection between b-pipe and muffler.

Finally, a sound (video) clip and picture of the GT1.0Z exhaust on the ITR, click on the link below.

Any silencer? Too loud for my taste.

Nice exhaust.

Any digital still pictures of the exhaust mounted on the ITR (from the video clip)

Because by that angle the exhaust seems to protrude a bit strangely in the video clip and I was wondering if it was just the angle of the camera.

An inner silencer is available for the exhaust system if one thinks that it is too loud for their own taste.
Just one fact about this sound clip.
Items installed on this car:
Spoon Header, Kakimoto Cat Jack, and the Kakimoto Racing GT1.0z muffler system. So that can explain the reason for the increased noise level. With the stock cat, the noise level will be alot more quieter.

Looks like it goes over the axle. An under axle system would not have as many bends in the piping.

If you are in Vancouver, just visit the Kakimoto Distributor. No need to go any further. For quick reference in pricing, you can visit the http://www.kakimotoracing.com website for pricing. But it is better to give them a call to make sure because those pricing are only retail pricing, and in this world there is no such thing as retail pricing! I know MK is gonna give me **** for this!

Looks very nice. Do you have any pics of it installed on the car that show a bit more?

EDIT:
I just stopped by the Kakimoto Racing site and I found this quote under their FullMega N1 exhaust: "The N1 muffler is designed for those who are egotistic. The volume of that is emitted from this muffler draws attention to it."

This doesn't sound too good (from the Kakimoto site):

"We feel that the GT 1.0z will be able to sell solely on the fact that it is the lightest exhaust on the market. That is why we feel there is no reason for us to try to hide the fact that the GT 1.0z has a comparably shorter lifespan."

I wonder what a "comparably shorter lifespan" is...

By lifespan - they probably mean the amount of time you will be able to keep it on your car before you get pulled over by the cops and they tell you to remove it because it is too loud

Well, sometimes you have to give up something in order to get something. In this case and other lightweight exhaust holds true; because all the new lightweight exhaust that are coming out, they are using either .8mm or 1mm thickness in piping to achieve the weight they are. The lifespan issue lies on that particular point. So one still might ask why? well it is quite obvious that thinner piping might lead to ease of damage when it hits something etcetc...... That is why Kakimoto does offer 4 differnt models for different applications. In the case of the GT1.0z, they offer replacement peices on whichever section needs to be replace instead of making people replacing the whole exhaust system when something breaks. Not to say that this exhaust will easily break, but one has to use caution if their cars are too low which has a possibilty of denting the exhaust.
My quick review:
Kakimoto R 60/70mm Street quiet exhaust
Kakimoto N1 Street to Circuit use type exhaust
Kakimoto Gt1.0z Circuit type exhaust or for those who really wants to take weight of thier exhaust system

GT1.0z Titanium, should follow in the next couple months.
Inner silencers are all available for the N1 and Gt1.0z models for those who thinks it might be too loud.
Next time, when we get the chance, we will take a sound clip of the GT1.0z with the stock cat on and show the difference.

How would the Kakimoto Cat Jack and GT1.0Z fit with a Toda header??
Can someone compare the Kakimoto R and GT1.0Z on the dyno??
