Default Car too low for shops???sh*t

So I went to take my hatch today to Auto Specialists in Oshkosh today and got denied. He exclaimed that my car was approx 5 1/2 inches above the ground while the lift's lowest point was 6 inches.
Does anyone know if any of the chain auto places or exhaust specialist are good with lowered cars? If you're in my area this would help a lot...I just went in to get my **** can muffler changed out for something quieter (jdm Feels mmmm ), a job I couldn't not do myself.
Has anyone else had this problem?

few pics of the car

I run a shop and we get cars that low, and lower, onto our lifts.

It's called take a floor jack and jack the back of the car up at the tow hook, get the lift feet under the lift points, and press the damn lift button.

Sounds like those guys are just lazy morons.

...but I will say cars with body kits/side skirts get denied unless they want to remove their own skirts and reinstall them.

thats . i get my car on racks and its lower then that. like stated above just lift the tail end w/ a jack... adjust the feet of the lifts to the highest point so in wont hit the side skirts and lift it up. not rocket science they are just being lazy asses.

its up to the shop, some mechanics dont like lowered cars, due to problems that might happen when lifting it, or just pure lazyness, i know my alignment shop guy was cool about it, but when i go to my mechanic to use the lift he bitches, but then again i only have my car lowered like 1 inch due to the super shitty roads in bk.

The only problem I've ever had with shops is that I cant get onto their 4 post lifts for an alignment, so I had to raise my car up so I could get on.

If its just a regular 2 post lift, just jack up the front or the rear first, slide the swing arms under the lift points, then do the same on the opposite side of the car. Just like B18C5-EH2 said.

they're just lazy

i guess im lucky cause a shop by my house has no problem getting my car on a lift and im tucking all 4 tires -- for both muffler and alignment jobs.

their lowest lift is still 6" tall? do they only work on motherexpletiveing trucks there? My car is a decent 2 inches lower than that and i don't even have to use 2x4s to rack my car unless it's an older style lift, and even those arms are still maybe 4 1/2" tall.

to that place.

yea my cars lower than that and i got it on the lift and alignment rack at school all the time. it didnt clear them but i drove up on a couple planks of wood. sounds like the shops a little intimidated by working on it. maybe afraid of damaging something. which i cant blame them. imo find a better shop.

my ek is about as low if not lower and iv never had a problem putting it on my lift, all the places i have taken my car to in the milwaukee area have never said anything, theres always a way to do it but seeing in your in oshkosh i bet the place you took it to was a bunch of hill billy who are used to working on trucks and looked at your car dumbfounded, not trying to make fun (my brother lives up there) just find a place w ho is used to doing it, or if you just need an exhaust put on i would help you i have my own lift, and everything but i dont have a bender so sorry bout that, let me know.

sounds like some lazy techs or some honda hayterz. i can get my civic on a lift a with my air ride dropped completly. not that i have to cause i just raise it then lift it, but i didnt feel like waiting for my tank to fill up one day and jacked the back up on the tow hook and put the lift arms right under.

I can get almost anything on a lift...

Now with body kits and such, I tell the customer right up front that there's a risk their kit will be damaged in the process of putting it on the lift or taking it off, and if they want to take it off or go someplace else, it's their call.

Most of them are cool about it, but we don't get alot of modified cars at the dealership, so ... -shrug-.

look around for a shop with new hunter alignment racks. they make ones that sit flush to the ground to drive on and then they lift up. only place i could get my pt cruiser aligned. its slammed and i couldnt get it on a regular drive on even with blocks of wood on the rack .

Just go to another shop like midas. Tons of places in chicago area will do it, but I am sure you can find a place closer to you. I used to get my old db2 on racks all the time and alignment racks and it was wayyyyy more slammed than that civic.

also in to see pics of the PT.......
