I rock the ice box on my ep3 and love it. No worries about sucking up water and sounds mean at higher rpm's.

I have never had a V2, but the Comptech Icebox is a great intake system. I would go for the Icebox. It is harder to install and it makes it difficult to upgrade to Nology wires, but it sounds good and performs well.

i just finished installing mine...hardest intake ever to install IMO....i use to cheap pipes that "plug and play"...this requires a bit more modification..

plus the instructions skip a bunch of parts...

What was the point of this thread? You should have researched more before you bought it. The Comptech Icebox gives you better throttle response/ low-end to mid-range power. If you wanted top end you should have invested in a cold air intake. If you follow the directions form Comptech its pretty simply to install in my opinion.

well its not that much harder, but i come from a b series with a short ram intake to this intake that requires assembly...the intake looks great and feels good...not the loudest but dont care because its the HP numbers that count...

But AEM claims that plastic absorbs sound vibrations which isnt that good because due to some type of phenomenal that occurs air travels faster with these vibrations so the aluminum keeps a better pattern going thus faster velocity into your throttle body...

but at the same time plastic cools better...i dont know if it does better than aluminum but overall its a need "stock" looking intake

keep the Comptech IceBox in place and install an AEM cai. It will fill up the hole in your engine bay plus you'll get the power of a cold air intake.
