Default intake

well i am going to install an short ram on my 5th gen . I was wondering if I should leave that tube where it hovers the battery. And if anything will it make more or less power? please i need good knowledege thanks.

There are no tubes over the battery. There is though a little flap. In anycase, remove the whole upper airbox. You may remove the lower airbox, but you may have to remove bumper. This is optional on SRI.

Though if you want power, you should have gone with the CAI.

Techincally not more power. The temperature difference between where the CAI sits and where the SRI sits is approximately 7 degrees without a heat shield around the SRI, which isn't enough of a temp difference to cause any difference in power. The problem with a CAI is that it's going to pick up more dirt and grime and have a slower throttle response than a SRI because of the extra pipe length and air flow travel. The best setup for an intake would be a SRI to where the stock box sits by the fender with a heat shield built around it. This has been proven many times over on many different vehicles.
