Default why would my spark plug be wet

i checked my spark plugs after i made a run down the track and the #1 sparkplug was wet. Not dripping or anything but you can tell that it was not dry. The car was running rich is the rings damaged in the block?

One condition would be is that you are running extremly rich or another would be that you have oil passing through the rings. If possilbe please state what they look like....

If you could be a little more vague here that would be like awesome. At first I thought your question would be why is the plug wet considering the title of this topic. Then you ask if the block is hurt, well is it oil or fuel smelling. How rich is rich. Like fat as a pig fat on fuel, or just a smigging on the rich side. MORE INFO PLEASE!!!

The #1 spark plug smells like fuel, but even if it was running rich would'nt the spark plugs be dry? When i was running the car it sputtured on top end between 7500 and 9000RPMS. After my second run i changed the spark plugs and it sputtured again, but not as bad on top end at the end of the track i checked the spark plug and it was dry. I drove to the pits and checked it again and this time theplugs were black and the #1 and#3 had a little wetness on them not dripping, but you can tell it was wet.

The sputter is the fuel putting the candle out. If the candle goes out how is it going to burn anything. So naturally it will be wet. That explains alot actually. WHat plugs are you running and you may want to lean it out a bit. Sounds like that things is fat as all hell
