alternator help

Default alternator help

the rubber guard fell off the ground wire the connects to the top of my alternator it ran good for a couple of days the all of the sudden the prong on wire and the bolt you put it on turned green and broke off and now it dosent charge the battery well the question is do i need a new wire harness or a new alternator

have you tried to get it tested at autozone, or one of those chain stores that tests stuff like that..if your alternator still good than your going to need a new wire that connects to the alternator, the one with the prong. What i did with mines is that i use a 4 gauge power wire and a 4 gauge prong, worked for me, might work for you. good luck

Just fix the wire with a new connector and bolt from the J yard and and get the little boot your alternator was working fine you said and the wire falling off doesnt mean yourf alternator whent to garbage.

changed the prong but it still doesnt spark gonna take it to auto zone
