So my car isn't running right now and I have a friend who has the same engine as me. So we removed the distributor from his car to mine because I didn't have any spark. I got spark but my car was still not turning over so we go to put the distributor back into his car and now his car will not turn over either. Both our cars crank but does not turn over. Any ideas? The only thing we did was take the distributor out of his car and put it back in.
New Update also.
I installed the distributor back into my car cause I realized the plug order was wrong when I tried it on my car and it fired my car up. So I know the distributor is good..My friend's car was running when we took out the distributor from his car so I don't know what else it could be..
Update 1/2/08
So I reinstalled the distributor, checked compression (140, 130, 130, 130), reset ecu, checked spark and fuel..nothing seems to be out of the ordinary..what else is there to start a car? Anything else I need to check?

if i did install it 180 degrees out of time, all i would have to do is turn the piece that goes into the cams 180 degrees right? Cause I tried that also.

well from the update I posted, I don't think it is anything with the distributor. He has an alarm on his car but the alarm usually has a start kill where you can't even crank the car so I don't know what else it could be.

what do you mean by installing it 180 degrees off? Just the piece going into the cams is 180 degrees off? Cause if that is what you are talking about, I have rotated that 180, 360, and every other degree also.
once when doing a compression test there was a weak battery and we had to jump it because of all the sparking you're giving it and no alternator working...try jumping the battery while you are starting it....otherwise, open distributor...take off cap n rotor...then test to ohms of the 2 terminals in the top right part of the distributor w/ the positive and negative wire disconnected...they should be between .6-.8 ohms...let me know if you need detailed help

RAWR! So I recieved my new distributor today and I got the wrong one...so I have to wait another week for a new one. I think the timing may have jumped because when cylinder 1 is up the rotor is not facing the #1 spark plug. It is towards the #2. Cam gears are also not lined up. Do these symptoms fit a timing issue problem?
