Brake Pressure Issue

Default i need help

i have an 88 crx si, my brakes have started to go shot on me. sometimes when i apply the brakes they are perfect other times there is no pressure or the pressure is constantly depleting. and my brake fluid is black. i am gonaa change the brake fluid and bleed the brakes i just want other suggestions while im at it

Make sure that you properly bleed the system, and if you still have problems, then yeah, new MC is needed.

If your fluid is black, flush the system with new fluid first and make sure to bleed the whole sytem before driving. Brake fluid is prone to moisture and breaks down after a while. Not something to be done all the time,lol, but it must be changed.

To make it easy buy 2 big bottles of dot3 or 4 fluid
Bleed each caliper in farthest away to closest order.
As you do it the MC will need fluid,don't let it get dry or you will need to bleed the MC. Keep doing this until the MC has all new fluid and new fluid is coming out of each line. It does not take that long. I think i went around 3 times and like 15-20 minutes and all my fluid was clear again!
I used russell speed bleeders so i could do it alone.

Also check your lines and calipers for leakage which causes pressure drops
