Default Passenger side window problem...help plz

well my window is all messed up....lets just say it goes down but it won't got back up so i took it to the garage thought it was the motor that was wrong but it wasnt....so they checked it by bringing out the battery and testing out the motor it was fine they said that the problem is the wiring well they said there is a bad wire under the dash so to do this job it would cost around 300.....thats crazy just to fix the wire.....i was just wondering if their is any cheaper way to fix this if so then what or i can look for the bad wire myself if so then what do i do and what do i need....thanks

hey first off.. its funny, cuz i just read one of your posts about what car to get, i see you went with the civic... could to hear. secondly... it sounds kind of odd.. the wiring concept? my driver side window does it all the time, where i can roll it down, but not up.. all i do is take the door panel off, and make someone hold my window when i unscrew the 2 screws to completely detach the window, and then put it back on track.. make sure its actually on track, cuz if its not.. thats what you gotta do.. thats why i want my em1 to just have manual windows sometimes. if it is on track.. i guess i'd have to actually see it to tell you my thoughts.. 300 bucks or whatever.. i'd go to a different shop.. check around.. good luck man!

So you don't even hear the motor running at all then?

You could probably tear the panel off and bring it up manually, but it's a pain in the ***.

its happened to alot of civics on honda-tech

but i dont think its a wire issue.

look at the rubber track (by the tweeter and the part by back of the door frame) in the window frame... look either inside or outside of the window and look at the rubber that its suppose to "glide" in between... sometimes that rubber gets crossed and stops the window from going up.

this is what i noticed with my drivers side window... only way for me to fix is is to pull the window towards the inside of the car while its going up so the rubber tracking doesnt
get in its path while its going up.

1- if it's starts and stops, then it's an open and closed circuit. follow the wires and find it with a test light. use your fuse panel above the kick panel driver's side. try fixing the wire or replace it.

2- if it doesn't work at all check the fuse.

3- if it tips and falls off track, check your window regulator.

hope it helps

well ill check it tomarrow its like 10.36 p.m but thanks for the input well i might just put a new wire through it but if i do wouldnt i need to make the wire new from the driver side to the passenger side? well it don't start and stop but lets just say there is a UP switch and Down switch they both have neg and pos so the down works fine........but when trying to move up it doesn't work well it has been tested and its said to work but ill check thanks
