Default for those with OEM rear lips

hey can you guys measure how much clearance you have if you have a no finger gap in the rear, from the lowest point of the lip to the ground? my current rear lip is scraping like crazy and I'm on a 2 finger drop and wanna go lower.

show us a pic of your car.

I doubt ur scraping with a no finger gap. My friend has a no finger gap with a kaminari rear and thats way lower then most or all of the rear lips.

oh sorry, to clarify I do no thave an OEM lip, im not sure what my lip is called but whenever i go through a drainage dip simililar to what's pictured here, but mine is deeper but not wider
i hear a crunching noise when my rear tires go through it. I drive through this at a massive angle so the front is fine but i only hear it in my driver side rear, so I'm assuming its my rear lip.

I currently have a 2 finger gap in the rear and want to go to no finger drop when i get my coil overs, and I was thinking if im scrapingwith this rear lip then I need to get an OEM one, and would like to know the clearance of an OEM one.

if that black civic is a picture of your car, than i think you DO HAVE an OEM rear lip. HOWEVER, i think whoever installed it, installed it incorrectly. the oem lip (if thats indeed what you have), should have been installed higher up on the rear bumper. do you see that first groove/indentation below the tail lights? thats where the rear lip should have been installed. whoever did yours, put it all the way on the bottom, and now it looks like you have a lip installed on a lip

here is a picture for refference:

since I'm not that low... I want to go lower... but i can't go lower if I keep scraping.. But an OEM rear lip looks like a good height. Any other ideas for a lip that might sit a little bit lower than OEM but higher than my Type R lip?

Could it be that my tires are rubbing? if I only hear it from one side going at an angle?

thanks for the comment Burke420

i cant say what other types of lips are available that would suit your tastes, however, any lip that sits lower to the ground is usually aggressively designed, and isnt as clean looking IMO.

just check to see if you have any scrapes from the bottom of your rear lip. if you dont know, than just put on some painters tape at the bottom of the lip, and the next time you hear scraping, check to see if the piece of tape is gone/ripped.

OEM lip sits higher than your lip. I have a drop similar to yours, a bit lower though (1 finger gap) and the rear of my car has never scraped and I have the OEM rear lip.

i like this rear because it balances the car a lot and i like how it fits my exhaust well. my front is pretty low with a type B lip so i wanted somet to balance, but i'm going to test it with tape first and see and once my coils come on I'm deffinitely going to drop it with no gap and then get a new lip if its actually the lip thats scraping. I'm still an inexperience driver and have trouble going through dips and business areas.

here are some more pics.

heres what i want the rear to look like... do you think it will scrape or would i need a new lip?

Hmm, Not sure. If it's currently scraping, then it'll keep scraping. Test it with tape to be sure.

it's the 04-05 honda factory aero lip kit. i had to bring it up some cause i had some rubbing problems with the tire and the back fender or whatever you want to call it.

its a '02-'04 RSX-S axleback with the factory tip.

StinkyPinky, you could probably lower your car to the level you had it before and fix the rubbing issue you had. Just get an alignment and get more negative camber in the rear so you can clear the rear lip
