stock mounts are enough!! and i'm broke. i have a plan need advice!!!
ok i'm broke, and most of the mounts are ripped to pieces... so i going to make my own mount inserts. I'm having a hard time finding the right rubber 4 the job. My idea is to use either a rubber hammer head, hvp, some type of rubber compound mix, or MAC MAsters has a poly thats the same as hasports mounts that i can machine down. I have my own lathe but don't know what material to use. I want to machine down the rubber and pess in the rubber with a steal sleeve just like innovatives steal mounts. I also have a mold injector.
thanks for any help!
todays my birthday, and happy new years!

i am using innovative 85a mounts, and i filled my torque mounts with 3m window weld. ive heard it breaks up after a while, but ive had mine for two years and so far so good, and yes they are pretty stiff and there is a lot of vibration.

Im ordering this to test out a new mount system we are working on for a RX7 FC RB25det swap

weld them with steel plate!! I did my lude this weekend or you can order any urethane durometer in block, bar or sheet form and shape it to what you need. We just got a 36"x2" 85a for 80.00 for a project at work, theres enough to make mounts for your whole car. pm me if you want the company contact info.
ok i already knew about the 3m window tar.... i dont want that stuff. i had hasport mounts in my crx, but i sold the car. now i just want to machine out something.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ismkv8s »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">weld them with steel plate!! but thanks for ur input....anymore ideas?

the stuff i linked to is pretty hard stuff, and it can be injected into molds. seems to be exactly what you were looking for. use this stuff, plus a steel sleeve like most poly bushings do and your set.
95A is pretty hard material.

how much did u have to use? i mean its sold in lbs would one pound be enough?<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jon@ForcedFabllc.com »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the stuff i linked to is pretty hard stuff, and it can be injected into molds. seems to be exactly what you were looking for. use this stuff, plus a steel sleeve like most poly bushings do and your set.

I was thinking about doing a hydro swap in an EF - to the chassis. Adding hydro lines, clutch master cylinder, but for a d-series. Nobody makes a working d-series cable-hydro kit, so I'd have to make my own tranny mounts.
I found real polyurethane on mcmaster.com, and I could make more than enough with a lathe and steel pipe. I figured I could machine it as two pucks, each with a lip similar to how Energy Suspension bushings are. Weld a divider in the middle (like how a shock tophat is designed), and you have vertical and horizontal stability.
I'm sure you could use any chunk of cheap harder rubber like a mallet head or a huge bump stop for a truck or something. The stuff from mcmaster is just what they use in hasport/innovative mounts.

just wondering...y do u want to do a hydo swap? i'm a little rusty but isn't the crx si tranny the best suitable tranny for sohc? last time i had a sohc was back in 2005.. i got a taste of bseries and haven't returned. my old crx was so fun!! i miss it
. any ways back on topic.

ive always liked the 92-95 civic si hydro tranny the best.. for sohc.. its the closest to a b-series if u rev to stock rev limits.. 40-60-90-120
the 3M in all the mounts and the tq mounts worked fine on my 400hp D been in there least a year and a half still looks good..

So i bought the devcon flexane 80.......its work better than i'd hoped for!!! I only filled the tranny and driverside mount and the motor is solid! I back this 100% super stiff mounts for only 34.00 bucks!!! its sold in lbs and one pound is just enough to do the 3 main mounts.. i just filled in the blank spots in the mount and bam! it was done in 30 hours!
