Default starter solenoid removal problem **searched**

I searched this forever and cant find anything. My car wont start and all signs point to a starter. So i took the starter out by removing the two ten mm long bolts but i cant get the damn solenoid out. There seems to be nothing holding it on. no bolts that i can find, nothing. I dont know how to get this expletiveer off. Any suggestions? anyone know how to do this? its a b16 BTW. and the solenoid im guessing is the smaller pop can shaped thing right in front of the starter.

the starter is held in by 2 14mm bolts on a D series (edit: just saw you have a B16 but i think its the same)

why are you just taking off the solenoid? take the whole thing out

I want it all out. I removed the two 12 mm bolts for the starter but the solenoid isnt connected to it. Im confused by it all. its buried in there.

I work at NAPA. Just replace the whole starter dude. Don't buy a remanufactured one either. Even if it has a lifetime warranty. And I am not just saying this about NAPA parts. I am saying this about EVERY company.

And in many cases, if you COULD replace the solenoid on that starter it might be the same price, or MORE than a whole new starter.

I dont want just the solenoid out. I want the whole thing out. but i can only get the starter out. the solenoid isnt attached to the starter and there arent any bolts holding it in. Its like its just welded on there.

I removed the two 10mm long *** bolts on the top and bottom of the starter. removed the 12mm bolt holding the connecting wire from the starter to the solenoid. at that point the starter is out. but the solenoid is still in there. Im wondering now what do i do? I cant get the solenoid out and its pissing me off.

the 2 10mm bolts are not the ones that take the starter out... they are 2 14MM bolts. 14MM any other size isnt the ones. they are opposite corners.

got it out. but the crx still doesnt start. Do the d series starters and the b series starters have the same amount of teeth on the gear that turns the flywheel?
