Default Help with springs intall aftermath...

I installed new springs on the front of my car last night (already have done the rears) and the right side spring keeps binding and poppy. I got under there with a flashlight while my friend turned the wheel and the spring doesn't seem to be moving freely... Any ideas???

Did I tighten stuff too tight? That nut the goes on the middle of the strut was pretty tight?

Any help would be awesome! I wanna get this fixed before my alignment today.

Ive heard that some springs you have to be careful installing because there is a certain way they fit in the dust cover. If you installed them slightly off theyll bind up the dust cover and the popping sound you here is not the springs but the cover compressing/uncompressing

^^he's right. The top hat isn't facing the right way, and it's rubbing on the under side of the strut tower. You'll have to pull it apart and spin the top hat so the pitch is facing towards the motor.

Damn. So is it because that hat is only supposed to go in one direction?

Yeah, I had the same problem when I lowered my EP. I had to pull the one side off and fix it. When you get it apart, there should be some dots of paint from the factory on the parts, try and use that for reference. If I can dig up some pics, I'll post them for you.

This sucks. I really wanted to get my alignment done today. I don't wanna get it aligned if I have to tear it all apart again.

Yeah, better off waiting...

The fronts were real easy for me, it should take about an hour.

Yeah. I got the front springs installed in like an hour and a half with the help of a friend. I just hate having to RE take something apart! I'm sure you all know what I mean.

I got a REALLY bad toe problem that eats my rear tires so I wanna get that alignment done quickly.
