Default "Popping" noise

I put on my new transmission today. I noticed the axle boot was cracked so i went and bought a new axle. When i drove it my car made this "popping" sound. Whenever i step on the gas it doesn't make the noise but when i let off the gas it makes a repeated noise. This has happened before but kinda fixed itself. Any ideas what it could be? please help! Thankyou

This what happen to me a few months back.
When i press the gas I dont here it no more, but when i release it, I hear it. That means the bearing inside the axel is bad or out of place. This was a new axel that was refurbish from autozone that I bought.
I end up going back 3 times because the axel was clicking or rattle at high speeds, damn autozone.

Well try to get another axel, see if your popping noise stop..

You might want to pull one from a older car.

Was it a "new" axle? I HATE re-man axles, total garbage. It's like playing the lottery to get a decent set.

RAXLES - I recommend them so much I deserve commission.

i just bought some axles too..no matter brand new or remanufacture, they offer life time warranty and i know ,it is the labor that counts. took me 1 and half hour to replace the driver side axle yesterday. but i bought a brand new one

Glad to see the problem resolved. This happened to a buddy of mine and it turned out the lug nuts were loose and the wheel was rattling. Axels can cause big headaches.
