no sound!!
I've got a panasonic head unit, panasonic door speakers, and JBL rears. I've noticed that when my trunk is open, the speakers work fine, and the music plays normally. However, when the trunk is closed, the speakers usually do not work. The head unit still displays the radio station or cd track, etc, but there is absolutely no sound.
I researched a bit here on H-T and found that this could be due to a ground issue. My left speaker wire is loose because it was simply tied on as opposed to soldered (as i did on the right speaker). Ya, I know I should solder it too, but I ran out of time when i was doing it. Is it possible that this lack of sound is due to the wire touching my trunk lid strut and grounding the whole system? If not, what could it be?
Thanks in advance.

I 'll bet my left nut that when you close the trunk, the spring crossbar just clips the speaker magnet and either touches the contacts on the speaker or pushes them into something that will cause it to ground out.
