Default new owner, first car, LA

Yo whats up ladies and gents. Names Kevin. Im 16 and have been driving for about 4 months. I was recently in the market for a miata, but i couldn't find a cheap one and also my mom can't drive it because its stick. I was 100% sure about getting stick, but i couldn't find a stick car with low miles with a low price. So with that said, i started to look at other cars and i came across a Automatic 1996 Civic dx. It has custom paint job (grey-ish in the day, blue-ish at night), New brakes, and Si rims. I got it for 4500 w/ 36k.
I WAS SURPRISED that the miles were this low. It was like "KILLING TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE," haha! I checked the carfax history and everything and it has a clean title and nothing is wrong besides the Outside trim neeeds to be painted, Bake my right side headlight to take out condensation, and fix the driver axle.
It will be my daily driver so my plans so far are:
lowering
straight pipe? or catback?
sound system
and rims.
But first i need to take care of the priorities first(condensation, axle, trim)
I will post pictures up tomorrow.

I would throw in a few other priorites, like saving your money for school or other important matters. Also, think about a car alarm. It's going to suck when you dump all that money into your car to make it look attractive and get it stolen.

kill switch yo.

Just do it, trust me. Somebody will steal your whole car for the si rims if nothing else, just to take them and sell them for 200 bucks.

Kill switch.

Thanks man. looking forward to meeting you guys. but since my car is auto, i think this is what im going to do:
SECURITY: alarm/kill switch and quick release/steering wheel
PERFORMANCE: straight pipe? axles back? cat back?
SUSPENSION: lowering springs(coilovers later) and rims

this is what i have in mind so far. Should i even consider spending money if i would want it to handle good for an automatic?

there are many reasons why you should keep this car as it is:

1. 16, first car/first time driving
2. only car (if you break it/gets stolen, your SOL)
3. auto (don't treat it as a MT either)
4. keep the Si wheels
5. you won't notice any difference with exhaust on that thing except annoying noise

Dude its Auto Dont do anything to it. Throw a stereo with some good speakers and get an alarm sell the rims and get some 14inch steelies with hubcaps and rock it. Then find yourself a shell or something to work with there will be a lot less headaches trust me

Lay off exhausts in an auto, loud muffers with an auto tranny always sounded funny to me.

i'm 16 too. lucky enough i got a 99 si. it's a sticky. if i were you i wouldn't do anything to the car, just an alarm and a sound system i guess. if you do anything else performance wise, it'll just be weird cause people will see that you're car is an automatic. i don't know how they do it up in LA, but down here, we make fun of people like that. i'm not trying to flame you or anything. but yeah. you're better off just using it to get you from point A to point B.

save that money for a different car ( with manual transmission )

But no base models with exhausts.
