Default brake booster and MC question.

Im swapping the rear drums on my 94 civic Lx for gsr rear discs.

I know i need a 40/40 prop valve to get the full potential of the rear discs. My mechanic was asking about the MC. He wanted to know if i should swap the MC for one off of a car that came with rear discs. what i need to know isthe size of the Master cylinder on a civic lx and the size for a 39 - 00 gsr.

another thing. is the brake booster the same size on the 94 lx and the 94 or 95 si?

Your lx should've come with a 13/16" MC. You can go w/out swapping the MC...just depends on if you're upgrading the fronts and your preference on pedal feel. I think the gsr has a 1" MC but you might have to use the gsr booster as well. If you do swap MC's I'ld suggest the 15/16" MC. You can find one off a 91 ex sedan or any 92-95 ex coupe.

And the booster is 9" on the lx and si/ex models.

k. the MC on the 94 Lx and Si are the same according to the part numbers on Majestic honda. so im just going to swap the Prop valve then.

I think the lx front rotors are somewhere around 9.3" and the fronts on the teg should be 10.5". I'm not sure about the teg rears. If you're just going to swap to rear disc then just get the 4040 prop and you'll be good.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

The MC's on all 92-95 civics are interchangeable b/c they all have the same brake booster. The stock MC is different depending on your trim level i.e. the ex coupe has the 10.5" rotor and larger caliper so it has a 15/16" MC.

the GSR is 15/16 and the mounting ears (brake booster side) are turned the wrong way but I THINK a 91 EX sedan is right
