Wait wait wait..... you're thinking of getting insurance?
You should have insurance already, especially if you bought her new.
Why dont you go get quotes from all the main companys? (Geico, Progressive, etc.) It only takes a few minutes.

No offense but do you sound like an pompous ***. You don't have insurance, you're new to the sport, you don't want to "waste" your time on the msf, and you don't have insurance PLUS you have multiple tickets.
The msf course is the best bang for the buck ESPECIALLY for a new rider. I learned in 2 days more stuff than most will learn in an entire year of riding without it. From the sounds of it this is pointless for me to argue.
I would absolutely hate to think what would happen if you were to run into me while on your bike. Most likely, based on your attitude at least you would probably try to run because obviously you don't have insurance nor any common sense.
Do you at least wear gear?

And yes I have full gear boots/pans/jacket/gloves/helment never would ride without it.
So dose anyone pay for insurance?

ill try to put in somthing useful, ive got an 85 GS550 i baught for a grand, insurance is less than 200 a year for liability. i got it around sept, too late in the year to get into MSF but i plan on taking it in the spring, mainly so i can skip the on-bike lisence test. but i also anticipate it will be a great learning experience and make me a much better (and hopefully safer) rider.
its 2 days, you meet people, ride bikes, learn.
as for insurance, shop around. the rates depend on your your age, bike, location, tickets, family discounts, weather, if you wear glasses, and whether your circumsided or not. theres too many variables for me to be able to say what geico, progressive, and state farm will charge you. shop around.

msf is very worth it, I took it and I ride almost every day(it was 32 degrees here today so don't bother calling me out on not riding...) It is very worth it, at the very least you will learn something and not even know you did. 600 a year for full coverage isn't that bad for someone who hasn't been insured on a bike before. I pay 650 on my 06 SV650 for the year.
BTW I rode before I took the MSF, and I still gained some knowledge...

I understand why people take the MSF its eazy too get ur lisence cheaper insurace safety ect. Its just too much hassle signing up pay $220 2 days off work ect . I already have my permit and im going to sign up for the ride as soon as the weathers better i tried too take is once but it snowed that day so it was cancled. im just going to wait untill the weathers good in the spring.
Ill take a class at the track when im ready for a track day

i usually just lurk around here. but you're an idiot. can you afford to pay for someones car when you wreck into it since you dont have insurance? nope, same reason you're cheaping out on insurance. quit being a freakin squid and take the msf (which will save you on inurace) and get insurance so people like me don't have to pay for idiots like you.

Even liability-wise, you aren't covered indefinitely for not paying anything additional in premiums. Most is typically 30 days for additional vehicles.

I don't know who you're talking to, but every single person I know who has taken the MSF course has said it was definitely worthwhile and offered a lot of great tips and other information for a novice rider looking to build safety and riding skills.

Just to show you the value of the MSF, something like 90% of the riders involved in fatal accidents did not have any formal training. Think about that number. That means if you take this course you just reduced your chances of dying by an order of magnitude. It may be a pain to take a day off from work (they do have them on the weekend btw) but think of it this way, how much do you value your life?
I will say that the MSF teaches you basic motorcycle skills that will help you not make a stupid mistake at low speed. Mistakes at low speed are the ones that will get you run over. It will also teach you a good deal about how to interact with traffic and how to be proactive so a car doesn't take you out.
The other piece of the puzzle is that you need to know how to take higher speed corners and get comfortable with leaning the bike over very quickly to avoid an obstacle. That you can only learn on a racetrack in a good school (don't just go to any ol' trackday, you will need instruction). The number 1 cause of single vehicle motorcycle accidents is failure to negotiate a turn properly. If you get some track instruction you'll how fast and far you can lean so you don't end up running wide into a tree or something.
All I can say is don't cheap out on your life. The statistics show that you are much less likely to get disable or killed if you take some classes. Your friends may say otherwise but until they do a nationwide statistical analysis on motorcycle accidents they don't really have a leg to stand on.

dude whatever man. you need insurance as much as you need the actual endorsement as much as you need to pull over for the cops man.
real thugs don't need **** like insurance or endorsements so why the f*ck are you asking us? we're too busy poppin wheelies and cherries and runnin from the cops to answer your ******y question, so if you want insurance make sure you lop your nuts off while you're at it, G.
