Default Lower control arms on a 94 gs-r.

I'm new to integras and I wanted to know what different types of rear lower control arms that came on the tegs. from what I understand the most common one is the cast( maybe forged don't know) one with sway bar mounting hole. Sam as del sol'.
And the jdm ones came with a stamped one different mounting position of the shock, and maybe the type R only. But I just picked up a teg and I need to replace the rear drivers side suspension. I have one from a 1998 gs-r but the lower control arms are different.
Can some one explain the differences to me ?
Also witch is better ?
Which models/years came with what ?

I dont think that there is any difference. The 98 gsr control arms should fit fine on your teg with no problem.

Civic models with swaybars, which were only on certain trims, . The non swaybar equipped models will work but they won't have the swaybar mount.

you could use 98 lca's but you cant run the 94 shock on a 98 lca. 97 and up lca bushings are a bit wider and the shock wont fit but if you get newer shocks they will work fine. 96 and up lca's are also bigger than the eg's same length but but just a bit wider bushings. hope that helps.

correct me if im wrong, but the molding is just made differently....getting itr lcas allow you to use itr struts but you can just always upgrade to aftermarket lcas like omni power, ssr, blox....and still do the job..

No, you're thinking of Civics which had cast rear LCA's for 92-95, and then changed to longer (and weaker), stamped pieces for 96-00.

All 94-01 non-ITR Integras had cast arms, with the same geometry as the 92-95 Civics, the only difference being the sway bar hole (some Civics had them and some didn't, while all Integras had rear sway bars).

Integra Type R's had stamped rear LCA's, but they were more of a box-style arm, which is quite a bit stronger than the weak 96-00 stamped arms, which were mostly flat.

Any aftermarket 92-95 Civic rear LCA will work on a 94-01 non-ITR Integra, but you need to make sure you get ones with the sway bar end link hole(s) near the top of the arm for proper attachment of the OEM sway bar end links. Some of the cheap eBay rear LCA's have the sway bar hole near the middle of the arm and will not work properly with the OEM sway bar end links.

I personally can't recommend any because I don't think they are of any benefit other than added shiny objects under the rear bumper.

But from what I've seen, Function7 is probably one of the best ones out.

so this means that the 1994 gs-r that I picked up has had the suspension upgraded to ITR suspension ?
I picked the car wrecked just for the swap I didn't even looked at it that well. It was at a dealer auction. But now I am going to fix it and make some money. But i looked at the suspension and it's different then what I had.( i picked up the whole suspension of a 1998 gs-r to swap into my del sol but never did, so I thought I would use it on this)

So is everyone sure that 94-01 tegs came with the cast lca's not the stamped and that the stamped ones came on the itr's ?

stamped box style came on ITR's, where the bushing for the rear shock is in the shock itself, and the lower shock eyelet (w/ bushing) drops down into the LCA.

non-ITR's had cast LCA's, with the shock bushing in the LCA, and the shock had a fork-shaped piece on the bottom.

96-00 Civics had stamped flat LCA's, with similar fork-shaped pieces on the bottom of the shocks.

However if you have 96-00 Civic rear LCA's on your Integra, then you probably have NASTY rear camber issues.

Take a pic under the back of your car and post it up so we can see what you have.

All US 94-01 Integras came with cast LCA's. The 98-00 US ITR came with the stamped box LCA's.

Incidentally ALL JDM Civics from 1988-1995, and ALL JDM 1994-01 Integras came with the stamped box LCA's.

The box LCA's should look like this:

Hope this helps.

If you have a USDM non-R Integra, then yes they were swapped.
