i have a b16a in my crx and all the wiring is done, but if i put my hand on the top of the plug wire for cylinder #3, i can feel a pretty strong tapping. i can't feel it on the distributer, or where the wire meets it though. should i be worried? what do you all think is causing this?

 

i think we all need a little bit more info than that.....

is the engine running?? is this when you're cranking the engine? tapping at idle only??

gee I don't know, maybe you should put your tongue on the plug wire and see if it's still there?!

engine turns over, runs normally, vtec hits fine. new plugs, wires. wire makes that tap throughout rev range. doesn't sound like detonation. ecu is throwing code 6, due to broken ECT sensor.

 

I HAD THE SAME PROB ON MINE . i forgot to tighten down the plugs . make sure you did . mine pulsed real funny
