Stereo/music gets quiet when I brake
I have a simple setup, just a pioneer head unit, ipod adapter, and sony xplod speakers.
When I step on the brake pedal, it gets really quiet.
Not sure what causes this, maybe a ground?

thats weird. have you looked through the options and seen if it has one of them things he mentioned that you can turn off. other than that... i have no idea.
Thats simple, use ur E-Brake. Come on u got disk rotors in the back im sure itll be fine
...If thats no good, u have a major electrical problem so i suggest going to a major automotive electronics place to get it checked out, i know one of my friends actually went over the the CAR TOYS down here and had them fix the wiring for his cd player for like 100 bucks and his electrical was fine after that (not relavent but he owned a EF)

Just to update this with a final statement. It actually is a feature that can be turned on/off. It adjusts the volume level accordingly with relation to the vehicle speed. It takes awhile to get used to, and I suppose it's great in theory, but I think it's annoying.

Would you not have to explicitly provide input for the vehicle speed to the head unit to work that feature?

well i had a problem like this before my pioneer deh 1900mp HU got jacked.i installed a HU and it would play in park position and when my car is idling.as soon as i open the door it would stop playing im like ok then i would have to mess with the door to get it to play.it started to play then im like ill go out and drive it with my music on it would not play just on right turns.so i asked the people whats wrong and they told me if it was connected right it should play.so i reconnected everything again and it worked.maybe its like a lose wire or something try reinstalling it again
My Land Rover does this. It seems to be a common feature now with newer cars.
But yes, I am sure there would have to be some sort of speed/sound sensor.
When driving on the highway when you slow down a good bit obviously it gets quiter, and go faster it turns up. It isnt by just touching gas or break but I am assuming road noise (which they just may have associated elementary by connecting to a speed sensor) I dont notice it though at only one speed with the increase/decrease.
