Ok i posted before about needing a wiring diagram for the stock wiring. Thanks to that i got all the wires hooked up. Tried the stereo once...didnt come on. Pulled out the volt meter.

Ground is good
Red wire gets 13.9 volts on acc on
Yellow wire gets 1.5 volt with car off, 4.3 volt with car running????

this sound common/familiar, or am i just gonna have to run a new 12v line to the yellow wire? TIA!!

p.s.
alternator does work on the car, headlights, etc come on.

 

sounds like you either have a really bad connection or more likely you connected to the wrong wire you could even be on the wrong side of a relay or something. Where did you tie in to get the 12V constant (yellow wire)? What is the make, model, and year of your car?

I would check to make sure that where it is connected is a solid connection and double check to make sure that you connected to the correct wire.
