Default motor mising

I have a 89 crx hf that I'm driving for my beater. The problem is that the car sputters under acceleration. It feels like the motor is missing. Besides this the little engine feels like it wants to run. I have changed the wires and plugs I checked the dizzy cap and rotor they seem fine, but there was a little bit of water or moisture in the cap. The guy I got the motor off of said he changed the fuel filter.

What else could the I check to fix this problem. I'm trying to make this motor last until I get all the past together for my turbo b16 swap so I don't want to wast to much on the HF motor. What do you guys recommend

Well I'd suggest a timing light too, then check your timing(assuming you kow how)
if its off advanced or retarded on the marks on the crank pulley, loosen the 3 bolts that hold the dizzy down, then go forward with it a little, tighten the top dizzy bolt, start it and recheck timing. If its closer to the marks then loosen the top dizzy bolt and go a little more the same way, if it's farther away then go the opposite way you went the first time.

I cleaned the rotor out it had some moisture and a little dirt. Then I drove the car to the parts store to get a timing gun. The car drove fine so I'm just going to keep a eye on it. Why would the car jump timing if nothing was done to the dizzy?
