well i bought some c16 like 8 months ago and its been sitting in a red gas container for a while. its been out of the sun, in my garage and ive opened the container like once. I wonder if its safe to use

 

how much is it? 2-3 gals? they say it is ok, but 8 month old fuel is it really worth 30 bucks on your engine?

i wouldnt use it, hell i have 7 gallons in my car from sept. you can have it if you come get it he hee.

 

I would just drain it and use fresh, not worth the risk, I know my heart would be pounding when I first got on the gas, waiting for some serious detonation.
I think E85 is the same way, has a short shelf life.

C16 is actually more stable than regular pump gas. It should be fine as long as it did not get significant UV exposure.

I would not use it because of the container it was stored in.

 

Light it on fire and see... If it burns, its good. If not, then its no good...

It sucks to throw it away, but i would rather waste $30 in fuel than ruin a couple thousand dollar engine. If nothing else, use it as solvent or something...

A little off-topic, but i had an Autos teacher in High School who built an air cooled VW engine snowblower. Just for fun (and because he had some sitting around) he decided to put some Nitro Methane in with the gasoline. From what he told us, it worked well for a while, but the extra "juice" caught up to it. I've seen the carnage

 

From what I've been told c16 has a significant shelf life in a sealed metal container, but only good for a few weeks in the plastic containers... I wouldn't use it.
