Wiring difference between a 89 hatch and 90 hatch?
So if you read my other thread you would know what I'm trying to do. But thats another thing.
It has been brought to my attention that there may be is a wiring difference between a 89 DX hatch and a 90 DX hatch. I was thinking that also before their are some changes in the interior and exterior. Can anyone fill me in on if they are different or if they are the same?
I'm trying to put an 89 DPFI motor into a 90 already LS swapped hatch that I will be taking out and putting the DPFI into.
Thanks.

You wont have to change anything in the ls hatch.
What you will need to do though is ditch the DPFI manifold and its parts and get an MPFI manifold from an HF or an Si. Then bolt it on and drop it in. Plus, itll have about 30 more ponies than the DPFI.
You are already ahead of the game in the wiring department. It will be a bonus for the sale of the car too, if thats your plan.

i agree with sired91. the only wireing difference i can think of is all the extra wireing in the doors for the seatbelts and of course some plugs are gona be different but you can depin and repin the right plugs like the tail light plugs the fuel pump plug cluter plugs. the hazard switch is in a different spot. if you stuck on changeing the engine harness back to dpfi just get another dpfi harness and re wire the ecu back to dpfi but that will be more work then just slaping a mpfi manifold on your dx motor.
I mean I have EVERYTHING for a DPFI swap. It's currently running in my 89 hatch. I have the stock ECU and an extra one also. I have the stock harness also. I also have EVERYTHING for a LS swap.
Still convert to MPFI? I am really trying to spend as least money as needed.

You don't have to convert. All you need is the intake manifold from an Si or HF. You said the car is already LS swapped. That meand MPFI. Just convert your other car to MPFI, you will have to do it anyway....
Fuuk DPFI.
Fuuk DPFI.

i agree with the last part. but hes gona need to buy a si dizzy and a pm6 and thats like 100 bucks right there. plus the manifold. if your going the cheap route just put it back to dpfi. it sorta depends how the guy wired the car for mpfi but you should be able to swap harnesses and put the 4 wires at the ecu back to how they were.

I'll see about the MPFI swap. I just don't want to buy stuff if I don't HAVE to. Just because I want to doesn't cut it. I'm trying to save money and sell the car. I have no use for it being MPFI.
