Ok, I searched and tried everything I know to get my ek hatch D16y7 to idle normally.
I replaced the IACV, spark plugs, distributor rotor and cap, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned the MAFS, checked engine timing, took out and cleaned the TB, tried adjusting the idle speed screw, replaced vacuum hoses, checked for codes, adjusted valves, checked the battery. I also replaced the timing belt and water pump although I know that has nothing to do with the idle but I was able to check the belts, etc, while doing that. It still idles too low dog gone!
I read all the posts I could find on this subject. I have no idea why it idles too low...

 

What about the fitv? or that the mafs b/c im havnt heard of that one before.
