To Swap or Not to Swap H22a4?
Today i just found out that the house that im moving into, has a prelude sh in the backyard, and the owner doesnt care about it anymore, and is not going to take it. Thats good news to me. Motor still looks good, but the the body is self is like a ricer/jdm hating body, made me want to puke..lols, im sure the car hasent been started for quite some time..should i swap it into my 92 hatch, or try to fix the whole car by it self. From what i can tell its missing starter, battery, stock intake, vtec solenoid, and pcv valve. As for body im not sure if i want go out and buy the stock body parts or just save the ugly body kit..lols Im torn help people from honda tech, and im not smart when it comes to the h-series. any help would be appreciated, i will post pics up when i can.
PM the mod Bense, hes would be able to give you info on the H. There are also a few threads on here with walk-thru's on swapping the H-series motor into 92-00 civics. The search button is your friend. Go ahead, press it
ill do that , but is it worth it to take out the engine and swap the darn thing or try to save the prelude anyone got an opinion on what i should do..if this isnt a tech question im sorry. i just need to know.
Well, what are your plans for the car (the hatch) that will tell you if you should swap a h22a. It sounds a little fishy that the owner isnt taking the prelude with him, is he giving you the title? Hell the car might not be his, you dont want to get caught screwing around with a car that might be stolen. I say address that issue first then, start thinking about what to do with the car.

Yes, its worth every penny and hour of your time to have a 2.2liter torque-monster of a civic ripping down the road.

its his, and says he lost the title, so i got a car faxed, and found out he is the owner. So problem there. as for my hatch, im really unsure, because i know i will be getting a new car by june or july of 08. i want to keep the hatch for gas saving ability, but tired of it being slow for me, im getting a SUV for family reasons. The hatch is reliable, but not much power is coming out, and i dont want to deal with turbo hassle and things like that.. thanks for your info
Ok just checking, it would suck to get the motor swapped and find out its stolen. So your car is just a daily driver? If you plan to auto cross your car sell it buy a b series if not go for the swap i guess. Im kinda in the same boat, I could buy this h22a for dirt cheap for my civic but I love the gas millage of my d16 but its so freaking slow. Well good luck, with wht ever you decide to do.

You've got it backwards man, you Turbo the z6 till IT blows, then swap in the h22, build the bottom end, add an f20c crank/pistons, and make ~260whp 179wtq n/a
