Spoon Throttle Body- Any opinions?
its spoon. Like all things spoon , it has its bling-bling factor.
Getting a JG/Edelbrock or something to that effect would prob yeild performance gains that would be more appropriate for your design goals.

It's a taper bored stock unit.
A&J Racing or any other machine shop can do the same service for you.
Gain's are minimal - but the "seat of the pants" dyno make the car feel a little snappier in terms of throttle response..

i never actully search about something else, cuz i know wat kind of throttle body i'm going to get http://www.todaracing.com/B165.html
Absolutely not worth it.
The Spoon throttle body is a factory Honda Throtle body with a tapered and polished intake. It remains 62mm diameter at the butterfly, same as your stock type R throttle body. I have actually opened and measuured the Spoon TB.
I can bore your type R TB to 67mm and taper and polish for $125, including return shipping to you.
You send me the complete TB with sensors, and I send it back to you complete with all your original sensors.
Turn around is one day.
Here is a picture of a JDM B16 TB I bored

I remember someone saying that after market TB's never have as good butterfly action as the stock. After markets tend to stick, etc. The stock one is supposed to operate really well, and if the boring is done right then you should be all set.

I tried the throttle body. No change on the dyno.
SO did Mike K. No change for him, either.
Oh, and for what its worth, he tried LS throttle body vs. ITR throttle body and it was less than 1hp difference, so I think throttle bodies are all hype.

Spoon's TB is cheaper then stock ITR TB. If you have an ITR to start with this mod , I think it is too much if you buy one or if you get the chance to sell the original one.
A taper bore TB sure will increases airflow velocity and you will notice more TB response and it work very good especially with inbox , Mugen or Comptech air box.
We are testing our own TB 70-64mm (modified ITR TB) and this happen to work very good with aggressive cams application since the cams need more induction.
If you want serious gains from TB on your stock engine (N/A), I think this is pretty much impossible , we are trying a 80-66mm (modified stock ITR TB) on a stock ITR and dyno says 1 peak whp but we see quite good mid-range from 6-8 whp. If you are not happy with this , I think you have to go ITBs

Do you know a shop in the area (Toronto) with either good pricing or that can do the boring?

yeah I highly recommend Leitner & Bush for TB overbores. They did my
70->65mm overbore. The 65mm plate fits like a charm (no sticking). The 70mm intake end was polished.
The BBK is 70mm at both the intake and plate ends. No taper.
Check out Frank Lin's new website...he has a pic of caliper measurements on the BBK on both ends.
Unless you have a 2L or more displacement there is no reason to exceed 65mm. 70 through and through is jut too large a diameter and would just kill your top end acceleration....yes you'll have a nice throttle response in the low end but that's about it. I stopped relying on the butt dyno to gauge the performance of a mod a loooooong time ago...
