I have a cylinder head that is marked PR3-1. the four circles embossed on the left is marked 8/9 1/1 -/2 and -/8. what year is this head casting?

 

any pics, that one way to narrow it down somewhat fast?

 

what do you need to know, I just need someone who has head codes for B Series engines. unfortunately I dont have a camera "that works" i'll try and find a buddy's or somethn.

 

I havnt seen many casting code thread but theres a few, theres a couple geniuses here that more that likely have them. My bad on that pic q, thought it had the i/m on it, but i guess that gonna help either.

are u sure? if it is a 89, then my guess was right. I just needed re-assurance. It must be a CRX SIRII JDM B16 head. I am running a JDM P30, but I guss that all depends on what OBD one chooses to run.

 

Its actually a 90
The model year of the car is +1 of whats on the head
Which is why my 94 P72 head says 9|3

good info pdiggitydogg. i got schooled with some new info.

 

hmmm, the head on my engine says 89. so if must be from the 1st gen B16. although i have the 2nd gen block. oh well, what's done is done
