fuel rail question

Default fuel rail question

What is that little globe thing at the end of the fuel rail and what is it for.

I have my on therory on what it does, just want to know for sure.

It is to lessen fuel pulses.

I would imagine the fuel pressure would pulse a bit with the injectors opening and closing, but you probably wouldn't be able to notice a difference.

Its called a pulsation dampener. self explanitory i guess. you can get a steel braided line made with an fittings "-6". people do this cause in older cars if they go bad they can cause the car to go lean under heavy load. from what i have heard.

i took mine off...i have a modified fuel rail with a line that goes straight from the fuel filter to the rail...if you have a basically stock car you're probably not going to benefit from taking it off, but it's not going to hurt anything either

he has a modified fuel rail. changed the banjo setup to either a barbed line or an -AN adapter

AN fitting on the end of the rail...take a 17mm wrench and take the dampner off, take off the threaded peice and attach a AN fitting(it's tampered so no need to worry about leaks, but double check anyways) cut off the crimped peiced to the line that goes to the fuel filter, attach hose clamps to both ends of the line and there ya go
