Default Few General and Performance Parts Questions

Hey guys, I came here to find some products for my friend who just purchased an '08 Civic Si (4 door). I don't know much about Imports, atleast when it comes to modifications.

First, is there a model designation for the current (06+ Civic)? For example my BMW is an 'E39', which would be 5 Series 96-03. I think it would be helpful when looking for parts.

Second, he is looking for some basic performance parts. You know, chip, intake, exhaust, the usual. I have attempted to find the answers without having to ask, but I have failed miserably. For an intake, I keep reading about some "X Intake", who makes this? Where can it be purchased? From what I read, this will give the best gains. Is this still true?

For exhaust, I am sure there are a lot of choices. Looking for something well made, not too loud, and something with good power gains. Can anyone recommend some? Sound clips would be great as well.

Is there anything else that can be semi-easily installed that will produce some power gains? I don't know if software is something to consider on these cars, haven't been able to find much.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

His Si will be an FA model designation. You'll see it in the VIN.

look in the DIY section for sound clips there are some good vids. as far as chipping you can have the ECU re flashed thru hondata that helps with HP but you need to have one or all mods for it to work, intake, header, exhaust(less restrictive then stock) I have a 07 4door si with a injen CAI (cold air intake) LSD cat back exhaust, throttle body spacer and heat shield gasket. you can find a good bit of useful info here on HT when you search. good luck

FA5

Injen CAI or X intake(I have the Injen and love it)

There are more exhaust systems coming to market day by day for the Sedan.

Get the Hondata reflash, look at their site for info.

Where can I buy this "X Intake"?

I tried to do a search on Google, but there are a million different manufactures that have "X" in their intake name. Makes it very difficult to find what I am looking for.

all your questions will be answered here about it and you can place your order through this link as well. you have to register first i believe.

once you start modding, you should get the reflash. i/h/e and reflash for starters.

come on! Be nice to the newbies. I remember back when I got my first mods I wanted to know what other people were getting.

Check out corsportusa.com

you will find pretty much everything you could get for mods...

Hondata is the way to go for software upgrades...some would say on this site to wait for the KPro to come out but honestly it would just be easier to get the reflash.

Enjoy!

autocityimports.com
kingmotorsports.com
ajperformance.com
These are some other sites just to name a few that you should check out as well to see what else you can do.
AJP is certainly something to look at if you are a turbo guru. 539 WHP at 20 psi on there most recent dyno run. INSANE.
