OT: JDM Rear Hatch
What are the differences between the JDM rear hatch on the Type R compared to the one we get on our Rs here? I am interested in one of them, I heard they weigh less and have some sort of tinting?...

i know there is no rear wiper, i think they have a silver lining thingy instead of the orange one USDM hatches have.

My RS does not have the hatch release lock ( in the rear, where you lift the trunk up that slides 
) So maybe the JDM hatch doesn't either.

no wiper and thinner glass would mean somewhat less weight.. it's probably not enough to make a big difference though.. then again, i've never had occasion to weigh my rear glass..

Tell you what, if you're just after lightness and you're not a JDM sl00t, I'll sell you my old hatch. No lock, badges, trim, glass, emblem, wiper, rubber or anything. Just metal. Throw some Lexan, fab a tie-down and you're done.
